Industrial Pump System Efficiency Workshop Oct. 19

Business & Industry Services will offer a workshop on Industrial Pump System Efficiency, Tues., Oct. 19, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the CVCC Business and Industry Training Complex.

Presented in collaboration with North Carolina State University, the workshop will focus on how to increase facility efficiency through proper pump operation.

The cost is $35 and includes lunch.

Taught by Don Casada, Department of Energy Certified Pump System trainer, the course is designed for engineers, maintenance technicians, facility managers, and production staff that are responsible for the maintenance and operation of rotating equipment, specifically pumps.

This workshop leads to the Department of Energy certified specialist accreditation.

This workshop discusses performance problems encountered in everyday applications. Practical issues involved in field measurements of fluid and electrical data will be covered. The Pump System Assessment Tool (PSAT) used to assess the performance of pump systems will also be presented.  Learn how the software functions, what data is required, how to use the software when measured data are not available, and what the assessment results mean.

Topics to be covered include:
•    Department of Energy Best Practices
•    Energy Savings Opportunities in Pump Systems
•    Pump Energy Basics
•    Introduction to Pump System Assessment Tool (PSAT)
•    PSAT Applications

This workshop is made possible through a grant from the Southeast Industrial Energy Alliance in conjunction with the Department of Energy:  Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy.
