Fall Small Business Ctr. Seminars

Catawba Valley Community College’s Small Business Center will offer several seminars this fall.

“Funding a Business Startup” Tues., Nov. 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join us for tips on bootstrapping, running key numbers for a lender or investor, as well as connecting with local, state and federal resources for available funding assistance.

“Funding Expansion and Growth” Thurs., Dec. 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. What does it take to get a loan to add a new employee, buy a service vehicle or launch a new product?  It takes a willing lender and an applicant with a good track record for managing cash. Representatives from a local community bank and the US Small Business Administration will discuss their products and services, as well as how they can work together to help you get the infusion you need to grow your business.

“Small Business Taxes A-Z” Thurs., Dec. 9, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Get an overview of taxes and fees applicable to a small business whether operating as a sole proprietorship, partnership, Limited Liability Company (LLC) or a corporation. Tax topics will include federal and state payroll, employment security, corporate income and franchise, sales and usage, property and self-employment taxes.

All seminars are funded by taxpayer dollars and provided at no charge through state grant funds to CVCC.

All seminars will be held in CVCC’s Business & Industry Training Complex at 2664 Hwy 70 SE in Hickory.
