Multicultural Affairs Office Hosts Hmong New Year Celebration Dec. 2

The Office of Multicultural Affairs invites the community to attend its Hmong New Year Celebration from 2 to 7 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 2 in the CVCC Student Center.

The third in the five-part Multicultural Series celebrating diversity on the campus and in the community, the Hmong New Year Celebration features food, entertainment and informative displays about the Hmong culture.
The CVCC Play Production Class will present a "Drama: Ama and the White Crane" written by Maureen A. O'Toole and produced by special arrangement with The Anchorage Press, of New Orleans, Louisiana.  The guest speaker is Kay Ying Lo. Exhibits featuring different aspects of Hmong life and culture will be on display. Food from several area restaurants will also be served.
In addition to the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the CVCC Foundation, the celebration is sponsored by a number of CVCC groups including CircleK, Rotaract, Student Government Association, International Club and the Minority Males on the Move.  
Partners for the Hmong New Year Celebration include BB&T, Jenkins Funeral Home, Commercial Fabricators,  and Market on Main.  
Donors include ASignco, Sharkfilms Production by Guillermo Ruiz, K Oriental Market and Highland Cleaners.
