Musselman & Hefner Named Students of the Semester

Catawba Valley Community College students Katie Musselman and Caitlin Hefner were recently named Students of the Semester.

Up to eight students are nominated for this award during each academic year. Students are recognized for their academic achievements, school leadership and community involvement. They also receive gift certificates to be used in the college cafeteria and campus store.

A resident of Granite Falls, Musselman is enrolled in the Associate in Arts college transfer program and plans to transfer to a four-year college next year to complete a bachelor’s degree to teach middle school English. She is the chapter president of CVCC’s Circle K International chapter and served as the publicity officer last year.

A graduate of South Caldwell High School, she played the clarinet in the band throughout her high school career and received several awards. She is the daughter of James Musselman of Winston Salem and Dianna Hall of Lenoir.

A resident of Taylorsville, Hefner is enrolled in the Associate in Fine Arts drama program and plans to graduate next year. She graduated from the Challenger Early College High School at CVCC and earned an associate Degree in General Education in 2011. She is a member of the Theatre Arts Club.
