Great Fenway Park Writers Series Features Peeler

Tim Peeler, author and staff member at Catawba Valley Community college, has been invited to read at The Great Fenway Park Writers Series Fri., Aug. 16, in Boston.

At a ticketed luncheon at the Hotel Commonwealth, Peeler will read from his 2001 collection of poetry, “Waiting for Godot’s First Pitch: More Poems from Baseball.”

The Boston Red Sox are committed to the proposition that writers and literature have a unique standing in American life and culture. The Great Fenway Park Writers Series honors that distinction.

Winner of the Jim Harrison Award for contributions to baseball literature, Peeler has published six books of poetry and four regional baseball histories. He was a finalist for the Casey Award for Best Baseball Book of the Year in 2000. He currently serves as the director of CVCC’s Learning Assistance Center.
