Who can participate?

The 2017 Shark Tank Competition has two Divisions…

  • CVCC students, with a fall competition
  • High School students, with a competition in the spring.  We work with individual high schools to establish Shark Tank events for their schools, as well as advisors and counselors to accept candidates. 


How do I submit my entry? 

Applications are now open for CVCC’s Fall Shark Tank for CVCC students.  You can enter by completing the Google Docs Shark Tank application or you can complete and print our Shark Tank form (PDF) and submit to Gary Muller  or Jeff Neuville


What are the deadlines and key dates?

Applications must be received by November 1, 2017

We will announce the finalists for our Fall Shark Tank on November 3rd.  Final Shark Tank presentations will be held on Tuesday, November 14th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at CVCC’s Corporate Development Center.  Finalists will make a 5-minute pitch to a panel of judges and answer questions from judges on their idea. 

The schedule for our Spring High School event will be announced later in the year.


Where will the event be held?

The CVCC student Shark Tank final event will be held at CVCC's Corporate Development Center on Tuesday, November 14th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

What do the participants receive?

The top three pitches will win cash awards… $200 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place, and $50 for 3rd place.  

What can contestants look to take away from this event?

  • Confidence in their own creativity.
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Addition to their academic or business portfolio
  • Recognition for their participation
  • High Schools students have the ability to compete against other high schools
  • Cash prizes for the winners
