Adobe Photoshop is an essential program for the majority of creative professionals throughout the world, whether they work in print, photography, on the Web, or in video. If you are new to Photoshop, or if you have used a previous version of Photoshop and need a refresher, this class is for you! We will cover the workspace and tools, organizing and importing photos via Bridge, color and tonal correction, image adjustments and manipulation, composting images, and masks. This hands-on course also discusses image formats, selection techniques, filter effects, retouching digital photos, restoring damaged photos, working with layers for composition, and using various painting tools. This is a required class in order to take the Adobe Certification exam.

This course will cover the basics of manual camera operation. Determining proper exposure, the interplay between aperture and shutter speeds, composition, photographic techniques, and supporting equipment will be explored. In this course, we will use the camera's aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual settings to make proper exposures. After taking the course, a student should be able to photograph a scene to depict it as they desire. An DSLR camera that can be manually operated is required. Textbook: Kiss Guide to Photography by John Garrett is recommended, which can be purchased at Barnes and Noble or Amazon.
