If you are new to Photoshop, or if you have used a previous version of Photoshop and need a refresher, this class is for you! We will cover the workspace and tools, organizing and importing photos via Bridge, color and tonal correction, image adjustments and manipulation, compositing images, and masks. This hands-on course also discusses image formats, selection techniques, filter effects, retouching digital photos, restoring damaged photos, working with layers for composition, and using various painting tools.

Photography-Basics

This course will cover the basics of manual camera operation. Determining proper exposure, the interplay between aperture & shutter speeds, composition, photographic techniques, and supporting equipment will be explored. In this course we will use the camera's aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual settings to make proper exposures. After taking this course a student should  be able to photograph a scene to depict it as they desire. An SLR camera that can be manually operated is required. Textbook: KISS Guide to Photography by John Garrett is required.

Are you making the best pictures with your camera? Learn the operations of a digital camera and what makes digital photography different from traditional film photography. This course introduces digital photo imaging, exploring the use of hardware/software, image capture, and input/output devices. Learn how to set up your digital camera for optimal performance.  Students must bring a digital camera to class. Required textbook: Digital Photography 1,2,3-Taking & Printing Great Pictures by Rob Sheppard, which can be purchased at Barnes & Noble or Amazon

Multimedia Editing and Production

Explore the world of multimedia--taking photos, texts, sound, video, and animation and turning them into a video story that can be shared on YouTube or other social media outlets. Learn skills and get hands-on training in shooting video, developing and editing a video story, and publishing the video to share with others. This class will provide a broad understanding of multimedia concepts and design principles while focusing on today's most dynamic interactive media.
