This class will prepare students ages 12-16 with the responsibilities of babysitting. This course covers the basics of babysitting, age appropriate games and toys, and tips for preventing common childcare problems. Students will have the opportunity to earn their CPR certification and learn the basics of first aid. Students need to bring a baby doll and baby blanket or small towel to first class session.

This course will help you develop some basic process skills needed to be successful in any college level General Chemistry course. Because process skills, such as mathematics, problem solving and unit conversions are common throughout the General Chemistry curriculum, the ability to perform these skills is a proven predictor of a student's success in a chemistry course. If you are a rising junior or senior in high school, this course will provide you with a jump start on these foundational process skills. Topics addressed in the course will include a math skills review, the metric system, measurement, unit conversions and the use of dimensional analysis in problem solving. Hands-on activities are planned for each day which are engaging, they reinforce relevant topics and provide practice of basic skills.

Photography XD is a two-week immersive summer design experience sponsored by the Photography Technology program at CVCC for 9th-12th grade students. Learn the following techniques used in sewing — sewing machine stitches, hand sewing techniques, hemming and mending, buttons, pattern reading, and zippers.
