Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) 5.0
The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) 5.0 Test is specifically designed for students interested in nursing. It was developed by ATI Testing to measure content areas in Mathematics, Science, English and Language Usage. The exam is a 170 item multiple choice format. It is a timed test of 209 minutes total, but applicants are encouraged to block out four (4) hours for the exam. The total possible points for the TEAS 5.0 is a 100 composite score.
As one of the Minimum Admission Requirements (MARs), applicants must take the TEAS 5.0 Exam before the REQUIREMENTS DEADLINE (refer to the 2016 Admissions Packet on the "Overview" webpage in the top right). Contact the CVCC Testing Center at 828/327-7000, extension 4048, for scheduled dates and times for this exam. It is the applicant's responsibility to schedule the TEAS V exam. No reminder will be sent to the applicant to complete the exam.
Important Note: Scores for TEAS 5.0 Exams taken at other institutions will ONLY be accepted from ATI. Visit the ATI website (http://www.atitesting.com).
Outside test scores must be submitted to the CVCC Records Department by the designated REQUIREMENTS DEADLINE. Only the TEAS 5.0 version will be accepted.

∗Every applicant must take the TEAS V exam either at CVCC or at another test site by the REQUIREMENTS DEADLINE date. When the deadline occurs on a weekend, all materials are due by 5:00pm on the Friday before the deadline.
∗If an applicant takes the TEAS V exam at another test site, then he/she must provide official TEAS V scores from ATI (www.atitesting.com) by the REQUIREMENTS DEADLINE.
