Graduating early from high school?

If you are graduating from high school in December and wish to enroll in CVCC for spring, follow these easy steps NOW.  Spring term starts Monday, January 7, 2013.

  1. Attend a STARTING POINTS Information Session as soon as possible.

  2. At Starting Points, you will receive the Application for Admission.  Complete and bring it to the Student Services office with your photo ID to meet with an admissions staff member.  Do this any time BEFORE 4:30pm ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 2.  (If you apply online, you still need to meet with an admissions staff member and meet the January 2 deadline.) SOONER IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN LATER!

  3. When you bring the Application for Admission to Student Services, an admissions staff member will meet with you to process the application and provide valuable information about your next steps.

  4. IMPORTANT NOTE IF YOU ARE NOT 18:  If you will NOT be 18 years old by January 2, 2013, you MUST get a letter from your high school counselor on SCHOOL LETTERHEAD stating you graduated in December 2012.  This documentation must contain the CALENDAR DATE of graduation (ex:  December 21, 2012). It must be signed, dated and placed in a sealed envelope by the school counselor.  Ask your counselor to send your official high school transcript to CVCC by mid January.

Bring the sealed envelope to the Records Window in the Student Services office prior to registration on January 3.  If you bring the envelope ON January 3, you must take it to Records before you are allowed to register for classes.  Lines will be long on that day.

  5. Be prepared to pay tuition and fees on January 3, 2013 following registration. (The deadline for financial aid awarding was October 15, 2012.  It takes 4-6 weeks to process financial aid from the day you submit the FAFSA.)  Students are responsible for payment by cash, check, credit card or payment plan (half due at registration plus a $25.00 processing fee with balance due in February). Books are not included in tuition and must be purchased by the student.  If you are eligible for financial aid, it will be disbursed to you 4-6 after submitting the FAFSA.
  6. Admission staff members are available to process applications for early high school graduates now until  December 20, 2012 at 4:30pm as follows:

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 8:00am until 5:30pm
    Tuesday from 8:00am till 5:00pm
    Friday from 9:00am until 4:30pm

The College will open on January 2, 2013.   Remember:  Plan ahead; SOONER IS BETTER THAN LATER! LINES WILL BE LONG ON JANUARY 2.
