Senate Committees
Section I: Ad Hoc Faculty Senate Committees
Ad hoc committees serving the Faculty Senate shall be appointed from the ranks of Faculty
by the Senate President.
Section II: Standing Faculty Senate Committees
All standing committees serving the Faculty Senate shall be nominated from Faculty by the
Executive Board and presented to the Senate for election. Additional nominations will be accepted from the
floor. Insofar as possible, all standing committees shall have representation from each instructional
division, but no Faculty member can serve on more than one (1) committee.
- Constitution Committee
- Scholarship Committee
- Excellence in Teaching Committee
- Program Committee
Section III: Procedures For Faculty Senate Committees
- Each Senate committee shall elect a chairperson who presents oral or written reports to the Faculty
Senate as requested.
- Each Senate committee shall elect a secretary who keeps minutes of all meetings.
- All standing committee members serve one-year terms with privilege of re-appointment. Vacancies will
be filled by appointment by the Executive Board.
- Recommendations made by Senate committees shall be submitted to the Faculty Senate.
- Copies of committees' minutes and recommendations shall be filed with the Faculty Senate
Secretary-Treasurer.
- Senate committees function only in advisory capacity to the Faculty Senate.
- Senate committees shall meet as necessary but not less than once per semester.
College Committees
Section I: College Ad Hoc Committee
The Executive Board shall appoint Faculty to College ad hoc committees as requested by
the College administration.
Section II: College Standing Committees
The Executive Board shall appoint Faculty to College standing committees as requested by
College administration.
