Membership
Section I: Membership
Membership in the Faculty Senate shall consist of full-time Faculty. As used herein,
full-time Faculty is defined to be those full-time College employees whose primary responsibility is
teaching and shall specifically exclude all College administrators at or above the level of Division Chair.
Section II: Number
Each of the following instructional divisions shall be entitled to a number of Senators
not to exceed 20 percent of its total Faculty membership excepting that each division is entitled to at
least one Senator.
- Science Division
- Business, Graphics, and Public Service Division
- Technologies Division
- Environmental and Life Science Division
- Furniture Division
- Health Sciences Division
- Humanities
- Mathematics Division
- Social Sciences & Criminal Justice Division
Section III: Election
Senators for each instructional division shall be elected by the Faculty of their
respective division in April of each year. Said election shall be conducted by the Executive Board.
Section IV: Tenure
Senators shall be elected for two-year terms effective from July 1 to June 30.
Section V: Resignation
If any Senator determines that he cannot fulfill the duties of his office, he should
submit a written letter of resignation to the Executive Board.
Section VI: Removal
Failure to perform the duties of Senator as stated in the Faculty Senate Constitution can
result in loss of membership on the Faculty Senate. Such removal must be accomplished by a vote of at least
75 percent of the Faculty Senate.
Section VII: Vacancy
Vacancies occurring on the Faculty Senate by resignation, removal, or other causes shall
be filled by election in the appropriate instructional division. Said election shall be conducted by the
Executive Board prior to the next regular Senate meeting.
