Council Members in Attendance:  Garrett Hinshaw, Wayne Wooten, Wes Bunch, Linda Lutz, Christine Holt, Bill Dulin, and Charles White

Agenda Items and Actions Taken

1. Strategic Planning – Dr. Hinshaw has submitted the Strategic Plan, the Mission Statement, and the Vision Statement to the Board of Trustees for their review...  Board approval is expected on Wednesday, November 28, 2007.  Once approved the Strategic Plan, the Mission Statement, and the Vision Statement will be made available to our external partners.  Dr. Hinshaw will request a letter of endorsement from the external partners.  The SPC will have a training session Friday, November 2, at 3:00p.m. In West Wing 117 on the new online objectives system. Dr. Hinshaw directed the Council to have their respective staffs to begin preparation of annual objectives once the online objectives training have been held.  Annual objectives should be connected to the Strategic Plan. 

2. Long Range Plan  – Dr. Hinshaw requested Charles to provide update as to the progress thus far.  The CVCC Long Range Plan Survey has been completed, the CVCC Enrollment Projections have been prepared, and the CC Benefits Report has been delivered. Dr. Hinshaw will have the Administrative Council serve as CVCC’s Long Range Planning Committee.  Charles will e-mail the pertinent documents to Dr. Hinshaw, who will send the documents along with an explanation of the task at hand to the Administrative Council.

3. Standards of Excellence – Bill recommended that the Strategic Planning Committees meet to develop the new Standards of Excellence. Each Strategic Planning Committee Chair is to send to Charles their proposed Standards in a revised Excel spreadsheet provided with the SPC October Agenda by November 30, 2007.

4. Learning Outcomes/Program Outcomes – Wayne indicated they are doing what they are supposed to be doing.

5. Annual Surveys – All annual surveys will be suspended until the Standards of Excellence have been determined.

6. Annual Program Review – The Annual Program Review format will remain as is for the 2008 reporting cycle.

7. Reminder of Next Meeting –The next SPC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. The meeting was adjourned.
