Minutes
CVCC Professional Staff Association Executive Committee
January 16, 2001
Office of Sue Asp, President

Members Present: Doug Allen, Sue Asp, Judy Barkley, and LaDonna Goodson

The meeting was called to order by President Sue Asp.

Purpose of Meeting: The PSA Executive Committee convened to prepare content of annual review of the association with Dr. Dunbar. It was agreed that the committee would review association goals as determined by the membership by survey. The President would be notified that the association is making attempts to organize statewide, and LaDonna Goodson was asked to present progress report to Dr. Dunbar when review meeting is held. The Executive Committee will express intent to attend open county budget meeting to present pay equity concerns. Strategies to accomplish pay equity will be reviewed with the President. Sue Asp will notify executive committee members of date of this annual review meeting after checking with Dr. Dunbar's office.

Agenda for next general meeting of the membership: The next general meeting will be held January 18, 2001, at the East Campus at 2:30 P.M. in Room 1001. PSA goals will be reviewed. Sue Asp stated that two new goals had been added to the list as a result of membership response to poll. A brief of the resolutions drafted by community college presidents to which the PSA Executive Committee had contributed would be presented by Sue.

The president will call for volunteers to form a task force to develop a process to recognize outstanding service of a member of the professional staff of CVCC.

LaDonna Goodson will provide an update on efforts to form a statewide organization.

Due to the lack of funds in the treasury for professional printing of letterhead, the committee decided that paper would be purchased and that letterhead would be printed as needed by the association itself. A letter campaign to state legislators should begin soon, so the president will make the necessary purchases from the treasury and notify the membership that letterhead will be made available to the members who wish to contact the legislators.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Judy Barkley

Secretary-Treasurer
