CVCC Professional Staff Association Executive Committee

Executive Members Present: Sue Asp, Doug Allen, Ashley King Brown, Karen Less,

President Doug Allen called the meeting to order at 10:05 AM.

Treasurer's Report: none

Doug Allen reported that At-large Board Member Karen Hiott was leaving CVCC for another position. A review of the membership roster lead to a nomination from Karen Less that Susan Killian be asked to serve. Board agreed and added that we would ask her to serve out the year and be “nominated for next year as well.

New Business

Bob Shave has agreed to serve as the second PSA Member on the Professional Development Committee.

Announcements/items to update at membership meeting:

• Import of state years of service
• Significant pay raise?
• Professional Staff of Year award – local and statewide efforts
• Professional development for non-faculty
• January report to trustees
• Presidential search update
• CAD open house (new building) June 21 or 28, 2006
• Part time survey – most OK with part time members.
• Board proposes to membership that part time “professional” staff with at least 25 hours per week be extended an invitation to join. Vote at general meeting next week.
• CVCC Leadership Training – Ashley and/or others report at general meeting
• Web page updates – check for minutes
• Doug will update/rewrite Priorities & Progress sections to be posted

The next meeting of PSA will be Aug 29, 2006, 2:30 pm at EW Room 301.
