CVCC Professional Staff Association Executive Committee

Members Present: Doug Allen, Sue Asp, Marian Baer, Judy Barkley, Jim Payne

The meeting was called to order by President Sue Asp.

NCCCS Staff Award:
The committee convened to discuss selection of a nominee for the newly created 2001 NCCCS's Staff Award to be awarded annually. As support staff are also eligible for this award, two options were proposed by Sue Asp to the Executive Committee to consider to select the nominee for this and future years.

Option 1: The PSA would concede this year and allow the support staff association to nominate a candidate. Then nominees from each association would be submitted rotating years.

Option 2: Each association would nominate a candidate and submit those nominees to the CVCC administration to select the candidate to represent CVCC.

The Executive Committee unanimously approved Option 2.

Due to the short turn around time between the NCCCS's announcement of this award and the deadline to submit nominations, Sue Asp stated it was not feasible to poll the membership for nominees and recommended that the Executive Committee this time choose a nominee by consensus of opinion. She then suggested that this nominee be Harry Cooke whom the Executive Committee unanimously endorsed as the PSA nominee.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by Sue Asp.
