New Business:
Community Service Project
The meeting began with a discussion of a Spring Community Service project. Catawba Valley Medical Center is planning a Family Fair event in May 2007. Ashley Brown suggested that we assist with a child car seat check. Ashley asked us to think about being a volunteer. She stressed that this would not be an event sponsored by the Professional Staff Association rather we would hold an assistant role.
Professional Staff Luncheon
The suggestion of holding a campus wide Luncheon was held open for discussion. The lunch would be covered dish with no scheduled activity. It was suggested that we mix up the seating arrangement to meet, talk and visit with other CVCC staff outside of our normal known realm. Tammy Buff and Becky Smith agreed to work on the seating system. The date of April 26, 2007 should be set aside for this event.

The criteria were opened for discussion. Sue Asp suggested that the Scholarship be available to Continuing Education Students. Others suggested that perhaps we alternate years between awarding the Scholarship to Continuing Education and Curriculum students. There was a lot of discussion on this topic. Ashley Brown felt we can discuss this subject further at upcoming meetings.
