RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF
GRANTING BONUS LEAVE FOR CVCC FACULTY AND STAFF
WHEREAS, the 2002 North Carolina General Assembly passed an annual budget, which included options for the majority of state employees in lieu of salary increases, and
WHEREAS, the North Carolina General Assembly granted 10 days bonus annual leave to state employees in lieu of salary increases or bonus and "encouraged" the Community Colleges to provide the same to its employees, and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Community Colleges recommended the following three creative options to the local colleges:
1. Ten days bonus leave, or
2. 1.84% salary increase, or
3. One time bonus (dollar amount undetermined), and
WHEREAS, the CVCC Professional Staff Association is grateful for the consideration given to each option by the CVCC Administration, and
WHEREAS, the CVCC Professional Staff Association unanimously voted in favor of the option of receiving the ten days bonus annual leave to be used in accordance with provisions in Section 28.3A of the FY2002-03 State Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Catawba Valley Community College Professional Staff Association hereby encourages the CVCC Administration and Board of Trustees to follow the "encouragement" of the NC General Assembly and grant ten days bonus leave to all employees of Catawba Valley Community College.
