Black Box Theatre Stages Out of Sterno

Catawba Valley Community College’s Theatre Arts Program will stage multiple performances of the comedy “Out of Sterno,” by Deborah Zoe Laufer, in December.

“Out of Sterno” is a coming-of-age play in an Alice in Wonderland world. It explores the triumph and heartbreak of growing up and the contradictory societal pressures women face just trying to make it across town.

Cast members include Kamilla Finetti, Hailey Pearce, Jackson Shoe, and Connor Wilson who are all Associate of Fine Arts in Theatre majors with plans to pursue a theatre degree at a four-year university after graduating from CVCC.

Performance dates are December 8 and 9, at 7:30 p.m., and December 10 at 2:30 p.m., at the college’s new Blackbox Theatre performance space on the CVCC East Campus at 2760 US Hwy. 70 SE. Enter the doors on the far left side of the campus nearest Skateland and follow the signs.

Performances are free and open to the public. For information about location, contact Kim Stinson at 828-327-7000, ext. 4406, or
