Allow you to take the first two years of a four-year degree at CVCC. This option
can save you thousands of dollars compared to going directly to a four-year college.
- Associate Degree Technical Programs
Prepare you for some of the better jobs in our area. You can study for a career in
business, health care, or industrial management, among other things.
- Certificate and Diploma Programs
Take less time to complete. They prepare you for a specific occupation. They are
also a convenient way to upgrade your skills in the job you may already have. These programs include
welding, machining, and electrical installation among others.
- Short Term Training
Training is available through CVCC Business and Industry Services. These special programs
provide cost-effective training in fields such as new computer programs and specific skills needed in
your plant.

These courses may be just what you are looking for to help you meet professional
goals, build basic skills, and learn new skills that will enrich your life.
- Accreditation
Catawba Valley Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern
Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Telephone
number 404-679-4501) to award Diplomas and Associate Degrees. Most curriculum programs offered
have been approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency for Veteran’s Education; however,
students should contact the VA certifying official in
Student Services for verification. The College is also
a member of the American Association of Community
Colleges. The Associate Degree Nursing Program is
approved by the North Carolina State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing
(NLN, Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway, 33rd
Floor, New York, NY 10006, 212-363-5555, Ext.
153). The program in dental hygiene is accredited
by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has
been granted the accreditation status of “approval
without reporting requirements.” The Commission is a
specialized accrediting body recognized by the United
States Department of Education. The Commission

60611. The Emergency Medical Science program is
accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in collaboration with
the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs
for the EMT-Paramedic. The Health Information
Technology program is accredited by the Commission
on Accreditation for Health Information and Information Mangement Education. The Polysomnography
program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in
collaboration with the Committee on Accreditation
for Polysomnography. The Radiography program
has applied for accreditation from the Joint Review
Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
The Respiratory Therapy program is accredited by the
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in collaboration with the Committee
on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. The Surgical
Technology program is accredited by the Commission
on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
in collaboration with the Accreditation Review Committee on Education in Surgical Technology and the
commission’s Council on Accreditation and Unit
Recognition. The business programs are accredited
by the Association of Business Schools and Programs.
The Automotive Systems Technology program is ASE
certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation. The Truck Driver Training
program is PTDI certifi ed by the Professional Truck
Driver Institute for Truck Driver Training Program.
