When minutes — even seconds — make the difference between life and death, CVCC's Emergency Medical Science program can prepare you to be a real-life hero.
"There is no job more rewarding than knowing you've saved someone's Life."
Ultimately, students test their knowledge in real-life clinical and internship settings. Six emergency medical services and various medical facilities serve as training grounds. Tying together the experience are experienced faculty and preceptors who supervise the students' activities. |

Your assignment:
Reach your victims, stabilize them,
and transport them safely to the
hospital emergency room.
Every day on the job as a paramedic is a
journey into uncharted territory. Motor vehicle
crashes, natural disasters, industrial
and recreational accidents, heart attacks
and crime scenes are only a sampling of
the situations where paramedics are called
to action. Wherever and whenever emergencies
happen, paramedics stand ready to respond.

|
At the scene of an accident and in route to the hospital, paramedics administer advanced life saving medical care using state-of-the-art equipment. That might call for IV medications or defibrillation to shock the heart into beating normally. Students learn these skills in both the classroom and a laboratory setting at CVCC. Stateof- the-art anatomically correct simulators and other technologically advanced equipment provide students with the most up to date clinical learning experience.
Quick thinking and adaptability are key traits in career paramedics. One of the first people to respond to emergencies, paramedics are educated for a demanding, fast-paced and rewarding career. Do you have a passion for helping others? Are ready to accept the challenge? You may have what it takes to enter the challenging field of Emergency Medical Science. |
