Liba and Zack Hollar Emerging Leaders Scholarship
Liba and Zack Hollar were interested in promoting personal development of all people.
The memorial scholarship was established as a legacy of this concern. Because trained, dedicated leaders
are so crucial to the future of our democratic society, Mrs. Beth Bock, daughter of Liba and Zack Hollar,
established the Liba and Zack Hollar Emerging Leader Scholarship to enable and encourage students to
develop their leadership potential. The future rests with people who are prepared to lead and to serve.
Description and Format
The Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program recognizes students who are presently leaders
in their school/community and/or demonstrate potential for leadership.
Scholarship Award
The scholarship award is $600. The recipient will be awarded another $600 the second
year of study if he/she remains eligible (maintains satisfactory progress and continues to work toward a
teaching career). Factors to be considered will be academic record, participation in the monthly seminars,
and involvement in other school/community activities.
Criteria for Selection
The primary consideration in selection will be the student's demonstrated leadership
potential and the desire to become a teacher. While academic achievement is important, it is not the
primary criterion for selection.
