Automotive Systems

The Automotive Systems Technology curriculum prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles.

The Automotive Systems Technology curriculum prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles. Instruction includes brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance and repair, suspension and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains, and heating and air condition systems.

The classroom-lab experience integrates technical and academic course work to ensure better understanding of the automotive industry and related transportation theory.

CVCC's Automotive Systems Technology program is accredited by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation, earned at the higher level of Master Automobile Service Technology.

TOYOTA TECS ELITE

CVCC is a proud partner of Toyota Technician Education College Support (TECS) Elite, which offers training resources for educational instututions to help students earn a Toyota Maintenance Certification and prepare for a career in Automotive Systems. Toyota TECS Elite reqiures 80 hours of hands-on learning in areas of Steering Suspension, Brakes, Tire Repair, and General Maintenance.

New Ford Tech/ACE

CVCC is one of many educational institutions partnering with Ford Motor Company to provide the New Ford Tech/ACE (Automotive Career Exploration) program.

All New Ford Tech/ACE courses are online or hands-on, so students can study specific insterests like New Model Training, the History of Ford Motor Company, Suspension and Steering, and more.

SKILLSUSA & AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS

Every year, Automotive Systems students measure their skills against other colleges through the annual SkillsUSA competition. We have won several regional and national championships.
