Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy prepares students for a career working in healthcare and lab settings drawing and processing blood. Students will practice sticking techniques on each other in class.
Learn the proper techniques for performing venipuncture and skin puncture. Students will practice sticking technique on one another in class. After successful completion of the class and lab portion of class, students will be assigned a 40-hour (1 week) clinical rotation. Second shift clinical sites are very limited.

Prerequisites
GED or high school diploma.
Important: All verifying documents must be submitted to Angie Rice anrice@cvcc.edu on the East Campus at least one week prior to class start date.
Costs
Please see the cost below. A textbook will also be required. There is an additional fee to register for ASPT exam. The itemized registration expenses are as follows:
- Registration fee - $180
- CPR - $15
- Libility insurance - $18.00
- Accident insurance $1.25
- Lab fee - $95
- Technology fee - $5
- Total cost due at registration $314.25
All enrollments must be pre-registered and all fees (tuition, lab and insurance) pre-paid.
