Entrepreneurship is an online program that includes studies in innovation and creativity, business funding, and marketing for employment and growth as self-employed business owners.
Entrepreneurship and small business are at the heart of the US economy and will be instrumental in stimulating job growth in the 21st Century. Small businesses provide the majority of private sector jobs and will generate the greatest number of new jobs in the next decade.
Entrepreneurship is the American dream supported by the knowledge, ability, and resources to operate a successful business. At Catawba Valley Community College, our Entrepreneurship program will provide our students with the necessary tools to achieve their goal of starting and successfully running their own business.
Our program focuses on the key principles of entrepreneurship. It is not a general business program. Our goal is to instill an entrepreneurial vision and desire, which will provide our students with ability to recognize opportunities, make informed decisions and have their dream become a reality.
Our program will provide the essential knowledge and skills to enable existing entrepreneurs to grow their business and aid prospective entrepreneurs successfully establish a new venture.
Although this is not a requirement for the curriculum, CVCC has launched Startup Catawba, free local help and support for entrepreneurs starting and growing your own business. Now serving Catawba and Alexander Counties.

CVCC also hosts programs throughout the year to promote entrepreneurship and to provide students with opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills. Check out and attend some Entrepreneurship Activities like CVCC's Shark Tank, Entrepreneurship Tours, and more.

Comprehensive Articulation Agreement
The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) allows a student who earns the Associate degree with no grade lower than a "C" to be guaranteed admission to at least one of the UNC system schools as a Junior and make a smooth transition for maximum credit transfer.
Some Associate in Applied Science degrees may transfer in full or in part to a four-year school. CVCC has agreements with certain schools to accept the AAS degree in a 2 + 2 arrangement (subject to change).
Important Note: As always, it is imperative that a student at CVCC should be in full conversation with the senior school before selecting and completing a program of study at CVCC.
Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Entrepreneurship may transfer to B.A. in Entrepreneurship at Lenoir-Rhyne University.
