Your site can optionally use email to receive CommonSpot messages or to notify users of:
In addition, the Group Members dialog makes it easy to send email to CommonSpot groups or selected group members.
If you did not define SMTP service for CommonSpot at installation, you can set it up through this dialog or make changes to existing settings.

Complete the following fields to enable CommonSpot email notification for your sites:
Administrator's Email Address: Optional. Displays or changes the email address for receiving CommonSpot messages, for example, to receive log events by email. See Site Properties/Settings under Site Administration for more information.
Outgoing Mail Server: Required for enabling CommonSpot email services. Displays or changes the email address for your mail server.
UserID: Required for SMTP accounts secured by user ID and password. Displays or changes the user ID for server access.
Password: Required for SMTP accounts secured by password. Displays or changes the password for server access.
Port: Required for enabling CommonSpot email services. Displays or changes the active SMTP port. Defaults to port 25. Specify a valid server port.
Timeout: Required for enabling CommonSpot email services. Displays or changes the time in seconds before a connection attempt is abandoned. Defaults to 5.
Use the following fields if your site routes email through a secure server:
Use SSL: Optionally enable this setting if your site uses Secure Socket Layer encryption for email transport.
Use TLS: Optionally enable this setting if your site uses Transport Layer Security for email transport.
