Check this option to use QBE criteria to filter information returned in a Datasheet. For more information, see Query-by-example Element.

Add filter statements by selecting a field, a comparison operator, and entering a comparison value. Optionally refine statements by adding logical AND or OR statements:

1. Field - Select the field to search against in the Field dropdown.
2. Operator - Select an operator (greater than, equal to, within, etc.) from the dropdown. CommonSpot returns operators compatible with the selected field .
3. Value - Enter or select a comparison value. CommonSpot returns values compatible with the preceding selections . Optionally enter a ColdFusion expression to match.
   
4. AND/OR - If you are searching for multiple criteria, set the AND or OR operator between each line.
5. Parentheses - If you need to group criteria, use parentheses to define logic; for example, "(A or B) and C". Select parentheses from the unlabeled dropdowns that begin and end a set of criteria. To further refine more complex criteria, you can select 1, 2, or 3 parentheses. For example, "((A or B) and C) or D".

This checkbox option displays from the Datasheet Results filter only and defaults to disabled. Use this option to optionally enable temporary results filtering for anonymous or authenticated end users. Choosing this option displays an Edit Filter button above the Datasheet view, with a dropdown if more than one view is defined, as shown below. The current default filtering results display.

Saving a filter stores it in session space - it is not persistently updated- and displays a Restore Filter button for optionally clearing the session filter and re-displaying default filter results.

This option is available as of release 9.0 and does not affect Datasheets created before that release.
