Edit Tree Properties

Access this dialog by clicking the properties icon

in Manage Trees or Edit Tree to view or update name, state, and descriptive information for individual trees and to view or change subsite bindings.

Complete the following fields for the tree:

Name: Required. Enter a descriptive name. For trees bound to subsites, it's helpful to choose a name that identifies the related subsite hierarchy.

Description: Optionally describe this tree.

Tree Type: Displays types predefined through Manage Tree Types. Pick from the dropdown.

State: Whether the tree is active (available) or inactive (unavailable). Click to enable/disable.

Family: Pick from the dropdown to associate this tree with a predefined family, or click Add or Manage Tree Families to view or create new groupings for trees that bind to subsites. CommonSpot displays any current subsite bindings for this tree, for the selected family, as shown above, and the following notice when you select a family for a tree that has no bindings within that family.

This notice indicates that Tree Elements defined using this tree, with this family, will display nothing. To display tree nodes that automatically mirror subsites within the tree hierarchy, click Save and Choose Subsites to create subsite bindings for this tree. The tree will display nodes for each subsite bound to it, relative to the subsite location of the current page.

Parameters: Additional fields display based on tree definition. For example, this section may display the path of a specific style sheet defined for the tree, as shown above.

Click Save And Choose Subsites or Save And Edit Tree or Save to close the dialog. You can click Close to exit without saving.
