You are here: Administrators Reference > Server and Customer Administration > Server Administration Left Panel > Shared Database > Configuration > New Device Mapping

New Device Mapping

Use the New Device Mapping dialog to enter device mapping information. This is where you provide the drive letters and network share names for the registered device.

Note: CommonSpot displays the following dialog if you had selected Not Shared. if you had selected Shared, this dialog does not have the" External Path" field.

Note: You should share only site-specific folders between the Authoring server and its Read-Only Production servers. Do not share the commonspot or commonspot-data directories. Regardless of how you choose to build your directory structure or share folders, the entire directory structure of each Read-Only Production server must be identical to the directory structure of its Authoring server (meaning that the drive letter and directory structure must be the same).
