Official transcripts are needed to complete the application process at CVCC. This guide provides resources to obtain the needed documents.
How to Request Official Transcripts for CVCC
Official transcripts are required to complete the admission process. Find the type of school you attended below and follow the directions. CVCC does not accept transcripts by email. Official transcripts must be submitted directly from the high school, college or testing agency in one of the following ways:
- Electronically through a third party vendor (ex: Parchment, ScriptSafe, National Student Clearinghouse) to transcripts@cvcc.edu; or
- Postal mail to CVCC Student Records, 2550 US Highway 70, SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
NC public High School
- If you graduated in 2007 or beyond, request an official transcript through the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC.org)
- If you graduated before 2007, order an official transcript from Need My Transcript and select the electronic version.
NC Private School
- First, check to see if your high school is listed in CFNC. If yes, order an official transcript through CFNC.
- If NOT listed on CFNC, contact the HS counselor to request an official transcript with an administrator’s signature, unweighted GPA and actual graduation date. Transcripts must be postal mailed to CVCC Records, 2550 US Highway 70 SE, Hickory NC 28602.
NC Home School
Home school transcripts must be postal mailed to CVCC Records, 2550 US Highway 70 SE, Hickory NC 28602. All transcripts must include the following information:
- Home school name & physical address;
- Student’s full name and date of birth;
- Home school administrator’s signature;
- Actual date of graduation (Ex: June 8, 2019); and
- Final GPA identified as unweighted on a 4.0 scale (Ex: Final unweighted GPA: 3.62)
GED/ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL (ex: Penn Foster, Pearson Online Academy, etc)
- GED High School Equivalency attained in NC, visit DiplomaSender to request a transcript be sent electronically (preferred way) or by postal mail to CVCC Records, 2550 US Highway SE, Hickory NC 28602.
- GED High School Equivalency attained in a state other than NC, visit GED®
- Online High School – Visit your online high school’s website and follow the directions for “TRANSCRIPT REQUEST.” Postal mail the transcript from the online school to CVCC Records, 2550 US Highway 70 SE, Hickory NC 28602.
- Adult High School – Check your adult high school website for the Transcript Request link and follow those directions.
NOTE: Any students may call the high school or the public school county office to inquire about specific transcript request processes. There are fees for official transcripts and processing may take several weeks.
College or University
Submit a transcript from every school ever attended.
On each college /university website, use the Search feature for “Transcript Request” as key words. Generally, colleges list transcript request information on the “Registrar” or “College Records” webpages. There are fees. Request transcripts be sent electronically through a 3rd party (Parchment, ScriptSafe, etc.) to transcripts@cvcc.edu
Official Test Scores
PLACEMENT TEST SCORES from another community college - Contact the Testing Center of the school where the placement tests were taken. Request official test scores be emailed to transcripts@cvcc.edu.
Official Test Scores
- ACT Scores - Request to be sent electronically to CVCC
- AP Scores - Postal mail to CVCC Records, 2550 US Highway 70 SE, Hickory NC 28602
- SAT Scores - Postal mail to CVCC Records, 2550 US Highway 70 SE, Hickory NC 28602
- TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) - Request to be sent electronically through ATI Testing TEAS Scores to CVCC
FOREIGN HIGH SCHOOL/FOREIGN SECONDARY/FOREIGN UNIVERSITY
Official high school or secondary/university school transcripts must be translated into English and evaluated for US equivalency by a member of National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Transcripts should be submitted to NACES directly from the student's schools. CVCC must receive documentation directly from NACES or submitted by the student in sealed envelopes. Student or opened copies are not accepted.
Note: CVCC does not provide copies of transcripts or information from other institutions or organizations that have been received by the College.
