How to Enroll

Enrolling at CVCC is easy: Select a Program of Study, complete the online Application for Admission, visit the campus and begin to learn! The Advising Center will help you choose your classes and register.

PLAN - Preparing to choose an academic program

  1. Complete Focus 2 Online Career Planning or Career Coach to connect your interests to a Program of Study.
  2. Watch Starting Points to learn about the NC residency interview, CFNC Application for Admissions and starting the Financial Aid process.

APPLY - Complete the following online

  1. Application for Admission. (All applicants are required to complete the online NC Residency Determination before applying at CVCC).
  2. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  3. Request for official high school and college transcripts be sent to CVCC.
  4. Seek scholarship opportunities.

VISIT - Bring a photo ID and complete your enrollment

24-hours after you submit your online Application, make plans for your "one on one" visit with Admissions and/or Financial Aid professionals in the Student Services building. Bring a photo ID and complete your enrollment. Staff will provide you the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the following:

  1. Your CVCC MyCVCC Portal account for college technology;
  2. Your personal CVCC email address and password;
  3. Placement Testing (if needed);
  4. Advising Information and Registration dates and times; and
  5. Campus Safety and Security.

Note: The most popular form of photo ID is a valid driver's license, but students may present other forms of a government issued photo ID.


ENROLL - Begin your college degree

  1. New Student Orientation;
  2. Advising Center Information and Registration;
  3. Paying tuition and fees;
  4. Attending class;
  5. Read and refer to the Student Resource Guide



It takes 24 hours for the online Application for Admission to arrive at CVCC. The entire enrollment process may take several days to several weeks depending on a student's planning and attention to the process.
