CommonSpot provides several facilities for content contributors to upload files created and managed outside of CommonSpot, such as Word, PDF, Visio documents, images, and both external and locally hosted video and multimedia files.
Use the Uploaded Document Formats option to define:
File types defined through this administrative option determine which types are available to contributors uploading files, and which types become available for personalized file management through My Content - My Uploaded Documents.
Expand Content Creation in the left panel of the Site Administration Dashboard, and click Uploaded Content Formats to add or modify settings for your site's allowable file formats.
The Uploaded Content Formats dialog, as shown below, displays file formats currently allowed at your site and is initially prepopulated with popular standard file formats. You can add or remove file types from this list at any time.
Click to sort by name, file type extension, MIME type, file size limitations, type category (Multimedia, Uploaded Document, or Image), or whether the file type is indexable for retrieval in full-text searches. Set these attributes in the Add or Edit Uploaded Content Format dialog.

Click the edit icon to update an existing format record or click Add New Format to make a new file format available for uploading.
The Add Uploaded Document Format dialog displays in either entry or edit mode.
Click the security icon to view or modify upload permissions for the selected file type.
Remove individual items by clicking the associated delete icon , or select multiple items, click Delete Selected from the More Actions dropdown, then click Go. CommonSpot confirms deletion to enable you to manage any links to this file. You can optionally Select/Deselect all.
CommonSpot includes the Export to Excel option in multiple reports throughout the system so you can conveniently collect and distribute data for import into spreadsheets or other applications that accept comma-separated values. Click this option to display a table of all fields within the current report, then select the fields whose values you want to export and save in spreadsheet or CSV format. Selected fields automatically display as column heads in the CSV output. You also have the option to change column names on the fly to customize your reports.
