I’ve always wanted a career where I could make a real difference in people’s lives, and CVCC’s Respiratory Therapy program has helped me do just that. The hands-on training and supportive instructors have prepared me to care for patients when they need it most.
Respiratory Therapy
Are you passionate about healthcare and ready to make a difference in patient care? The Respiratory Therapy program at CVCC prepares you to become a skilled respiratory therapist, equipped to provide essential care in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home care.
In CVCC’s Respiratory Therapy program, you’ll learn to deliver life-saving treatments, manage respiratory and cardiac care, and make critical decisions regarding oxygen therapy, breathing treatments, and heart and lung studies. The program emphasizes competence in cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains, all crucial for a career as a registered respiratory therapist (RRT). You will complete coursework and clinical experiences that prepare you for certification exams and real-world responsibilities.
Graduates will be well-equipped to pursue careers as respiratory therapists, providing critical care in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and home care settings. The program also supports professional development for those who want to continue their education or specialize in areas like pediatric or neonatal respiratory care.
