Financial Aid
How to Pay for College
The most important step in applying for financial aid is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 each year.
To complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA, students should use their and/or their parents’ 2021 tax information.
Note: There is NO charge associated with submitting the FAFSA. It is a FREE application. If students have questions, contact The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, or the Federal Student Aid Agency at (800) 433-3243.
Find and apply for Scholarships. Start researching early, meet deadlines, and you may be on your way to scholarship success.
Scholarships assist students in paying for their college education. Scholarships do not have to be repaid. Generally, scholarships are a form of financial aid awarded to students with special qualifications, such as academic, athletic, or artistic talent. Scholarships may be set up to support a specific type of work like community service or support an underrepresented group of students.
The Business Office provides information about current tuition, collects payments, and helps set up payment plans.
Federal Work-Study provides need-based employment to eligible students.
Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a program funded through the US Department of Education to provide need-based employment for college students. CVCC offers employment opportunities in various areas around campus to eligible students who wish to earn money while attending college. On average, students may work 10–15 hours per week at a rate of $15.00 per hour.
CVCC is an excellent choice for military service members, veterans, and their spouses and independents. We are proud to help coordinate VA Benefits with the student’s educational goals.
Veterans Affairs Educational Benefits
CVCC is approved for Veterans Affairs Educational Benefits. Any student wishing to use VA Benefits should contact Erin Conway, CVCC VA Certifying Official, to determine if your program of study is approved.
