If you’re driven to care for individuals and support their health and well-being, CVCC’s Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) program will prepare you to thrive in the ever-evolving field of nursing. When you study nursing at CVCC, you’ll build expertise in healthcare, nursing practice, and caring for individuals holistically. The curriculum integrates safety and quality into patient care, preparing you to navigate today’s dynamic healthcare environments and address the diverse needs of patients across the lifespan.
Students will learn to collaborate as members of interdisciplinary teams, applying evidence-based practices and utilizing informatics to improve patient outcomes. The coursework emphasizes key aspects of nursing care, from quality improvement to personalized care, equipping you with the tools to meet the demands of the profession.
Graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), a critical step toward becoming a licensed registered nurse.

Comprehensive Articulation Agreement
The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) allows a student who earns the Associate degree with no grade lower than a “C” to be guaranteed admission to at least one of the UNC system schools as a Junior ;and make a smooth transition for maximum credit transfer.
Some Associate in Applied Science degrees may transfer in full or in part to a four-year school. CVCC has agreements with certain schools to accept the AAS degree in a 2 + 2 arrangement (subject to change).
Important Note:
- As always, it is imperative that a student at CVCC should be in full conversation with the senior school before selecting and completing a program of study at CVCC.
