The Catawba Valley Community College Small Business Center has received new state funding, which will help to assist local businesses dealing with the current challenging economic conditions.

Through funding made available from the 2020 COVID-19 Recovery Act and allocated by the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges, CVCC’s Small Business Center received additional funding to pay for enhanced individual counseling for local businesses.

These funds will come in the form of Professional Service Grants to help businesses reboot, recover and rebuild during and after the pandemic.

The CVCC Small Business Center has connected with local legal and accounting professionals and subject matter experts in social media, e-commerce and non-profit management who are available to work with local businesses through CVCC’s Small Business Center.

Assistance will come from these professionals in a variety of ways, including marketing assistance, legal counseling on business issues, bookkeeping and account assistance, business tax questions and non-profit strategy and support.

Businesses can participate by contacting director Jeff Neuville at the CVCC Small Business Center and completing the Request for Counseling Form.

There are no fees for businesses to participate, but the funding is limited and will be used on a first come, first serve basis.

For more information, contact Neuville at jneuville@cvcc.edu or call (828) 327-7000, ext. 4102.
