The Public Safety Administration program at CVCC challenged me and prepared me for real-life emergency situations. I feel ready to serve and protect my community with confidence.
Public Safety Administration – Emergency and Fire Management Services
Catawba Valley Community College’s Public Safety Administration – Emergency and Fire Management Services program prepares students for leadership and administrative roles within fire and emergency management organizations. The program emphasizes technical, managerial, and operational aspects of public safety leadership, providing a foundation for effective decision-making in high-stakes emergency environments.
Students explore public safety administration, interagency operations, incident management, emergency planning, and crisis leadership. Coursework also includes public budgeting, personnel supervision, and administrative law, while integrating previously earned certifications such as firefighter, emergency management, or hazardous materials credentials.
Graduates develop the skills and knowledge needed to coordinate complex emergency responses, oversee personnel and resources, and contribute to the planning and management of public safety operations.
