As community members, we have found this library to be a true asset during this time period. I believe the library at CVCC can and should be an ongoing asset for the surrounding community. More people should know about it and how to access its resources.

Think a book or DVD should be in our collection? Let us know! Library staff members appreciate your recommendations for books and journals to be added to the library collection. You can use the web form on our home page or send an email to Staci Wilson with your recommendation.
Custom Instruction Videos
Library staff will create custom videos upon request. Videos can be tailored to a class, a topic, or an assignment. Contact a library staff member for more information or check out the videos already
available in Panopto.
Distance Learning
Many library resources are available online. Students and faculty can access the Library Catalog, NC LIVE, and other library resources from off-campus locations. Contact library staff to learn more about how we can support online instruction, such as assisting students with research assignments using the discussion forum in Blackboard.
Embedded Librarians
Embedding a librarian in your course offers the ability to provide library services your students using your online course. This service is especially useful for online classes that involve a research component. Adding a librarian to your Blackboard course can extend students’ access to research assistance before and after an information literacy instruction session.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Interlibrary loan provides access to a large variety of books not owned by CVCC. We can borrow books and articles from North Carolina universities and community colleges. Requests take approximately a week to fill. Please ask library staff for more information.
LibGuides
LibGuides are custom sites created to share relevant information related to a course, a program, an assignment, or a topic. Instructors can request multiple guides based on instructional needs.
Library Instruction Classes
A library staff member can lead information literacy sessions for your students. The length of the session and topics covered are tailored to instructional needs. To submit an instruction session request, please contact Anita McRary, Outreach and Instruction Librarian.
