Through the CCP program at CVCC, I was able to earn college credits while still in high school—completely tuition free. It gave me a huge head start on my degree and helped me figure out what I wanted to study.

Career and College Promise
Catawba Valley Community College offers the Career and College Promise (CCP) programs for high school students to get a head start on their college careers.
The Career and College Promise (CCP) Program allows qualified students to be enrolled in high school and earn tuition free college credits at the same time. Students can earn college credit through one of seven college transfer pathways with NC Career and College Promise that can then transfer to all public universities in North Carolina, as well as many private colleges or universities. Students can also choose to earn tuition free credits toward many of the career technical programs offered at CVCC.
Discover more through the CCP Knowledgebase.
Career and College Promise is available to eligible high school students through a partnership among the Department of Public Instruction, the NC Community College System, the University of North Carolina System, and many independent colleges and universities. Please review official CCP documents and resources that have been published by the NC Community College System.
Campus office hours vary near and during holidays. Please (828) 327-7000, ext or email [email protected].
The Career and College Promise section of the CVCC Catalog is where students may view more detailed information on each individual pathway. CVCC has both College Transfer Pathways and Career Technical Education Pathways.
College Transfer Pathways (CTP)
Pathways under this category allow qualified high school juniors and seniors to complete a minimum of 30 hours of college transfer credit tuition free. Classes identified in the College Transfer Pathways will transfer seamlessly (with a course grade of C or higher) to any North Carolina public university as well as participating private colleges/universities.
Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways
Pathways under this category allow qualified high school juniors and seniors to pursue a certificate or diploma aligned with a high school career cluster.
