The program is open to students aged 16 or older. Students who are 16 or 17 years old must download a Minor Application Petition from the College and Career Readiness website and return it completed before admission. Students must score at the 9th grade level on a reading and math assessment and meet transfer credit requirements to begin taking AHS classes. Student who are 16 or 17 should see the Procedure for Minor Students for more information.

Adult High School FAQs
I don't have a computer or internet access at home. Can I still participate in the AHS program?
Yes. Our computer labs are open to AHS students, so you can work on-campus if you prefer. Instructors are also available in the labs to assist students who need help.
What if I don't score at the ninth grade level on my reading or math assessments?
If one or both scores are below 9.0, you can study in our open Academic Skills Lab until your scores come up. Once you re-test at a 9.0, you may then take the orientation class and begin working on your AHS credits.
What do I need to graduate?
You may need to complete only one class or many, depending on the number of credits you earned before leaving high school. Note that credits earned in another state may not all transfer to our AHS program. Graduation requires 22 specific credits:
- 4 English
- 4 Math
- 3 Science
- 4 Social Studies
- 1 Health/PE
- 6 Electives
How long will it take me to earn my diploma?
The more credits you need, the longer it will take. The more time you spend working online, the faster course completion will go. It's all up to the time and effort you put into the program. Students are required to meet individually set goals each month based on state requirements and personal credit totals.
