When you study the Associate in Science at CVCC, you’ll take college-level courses that focus on enhancing your academic skills in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, oral communication, and computer use. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that ensures you’re well-prepared for further study in a variety of scientific fields, from biology to engineering to health sciences.

With opportunities to excel in both general education and specialized courses, you will gain a strong understanding of the natural and physical sciences, along with the critical thinking and analytical skills needed for success in higher education. The program is aligned with the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) and the Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (ICAA), ensuring that graduates can transfer seamlessly to North Carolina’s public and private universities with junior status.

Community college graduates must obtain a grade of “C” or better in each course and an overall GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in order to transfer with a junior status. Courses may also transfer through bilateral agreements between institutions.
